VALORANT MEETING + DATE HEADCANONS
Hope you enjoy!
SOVAÂ
He was finishing recon in a snowy forest late at night and was done for the day. He outstretched his arm and sent out the Owl Drone
So far, you had been hiking for about 8 hours through frigid woods and gotten lost about 2 hours earlier. You were trying to make camp for the night but failing to start a fire
You caught a glimpse of Sovaâs drone and followed it back to the man, who immediately regarded you with some suspicion but could see you were of his dimensionÂ
Deciding to keep an eye on you, he led you back to his campsite and helped you set up your tent next to his
He was kind, and he quietly offered you a seat next to him by the fire. Both of you sat awkwardly at first, not quite sure how to handle the silence
âDo you do archery out here? I noticed the bow and wanted to askâŠâ you trailed off as he looked at youÂ
He removed the bow and two arrows from his sling. âWould you like a look at them?â You moved closer and inspected them. The technology was intricate but your eyes wandered over to the man sitting close to you
âWhat brings you out here?â
âI wanted to do the Blue Lakes trail but I got lost a while back. I was planning on stargazing at the top butâŠâ you gestured to your compass, âI got lostâ
âI leave here tomorrow, and I can show you to the trail if you would like.â Sova offered
You accepted his offer and both of you went to your tents for the night
Humiliatingly, the trail back was marked but Sova didnât seem to care that you got lost so easily. The two of you just chatted about the surroundings while traveling onward
At the trailhead, you had to part ways. But it didnât have to be the end, and you made a fast decision and asked to see him again
âIâd love to! What did you have in mind?â
Sova Date
At the trailhead, you finished tying your boots before a familiar voice called out
âHello y/n! Should we start walking?â Sova had dressed in pants and a blue flannel jacket
Both of you continued up to a clearing in the forest, just as the sun was begging to set
You laid out a large blanket from your pack and set it down. Sova took out a pair of bags and bottles of water
You hadnât expected him to bring home cooked food, but you werenât complaining either
Sova and you made yourselves comfortable, and ate while you waited for the evening to turn to night
Conversing with him was always peaceful. He listened deeply and always responded with optimism or curiosity
The North Star was the first to appear, followed by a few faint constellations
Within an hour, the sky was overrun with stars. Each point of light layered on another creating a portrait of the galaxy
Sova and you took turns pointing out constellations, each time trying to remember what each star was namedÂ
Both of you relied on the book of astronomy you brought along to figure out what was in the sky
Sova had an understanding of stars to navigate, and would name stars in Russian or translate what he could
Although you and him were occupied with stargazing, you started to succumb to the cold of the night
âY/N, are you cold?â
âNo, itâs nothing you need to-â
Sova took his jacket off and place it on you. The lining inside was warm from Sovaâs body heat
âAre you still cold? Come here, and stay close to me.â Sova gestured for you to join his side
For the rest of the night, you and him stayed in almost constant contact until you both decided to head back
You followed behind Sova, his sense of direction and torch lit the way. Despite being deep in the wilderness, you felt safe in his presence
When you arrived at the trailhead, Sova said his goodbyes. He made sure you would arrive home safely before leaving. His jacket was still on you
âSova, you forgot this.â you held his jacket out to him. Â
âKeep it Y/N, I want you to have it for the next outing. I hope it brings you much warmth and comfort while I am away.â
âHereâs something to remind you of me.â you gave Sova a kiss
He was a blushing mess, and held you close before departing back to the Valorant HQ
While you traveled back to your home, you ran your fingers over the soft material of Sovaâs jacket. It smelled faintly of him
DEADLOCK
You were in LA when the Landfall facility erupted and you were caught in the crossfire of Omega and Alpha variants. A single Shock Arrow went off course and hit you with enough voltage to knock you out
Once you came to, Deadlock had finished performing CPR on you, including mouth to mouth.Â
When you came to, your face was covered in blonde locks of hair, gazing into eyes with intense blue irises, and her body pressed against yours
Iselin was red in the face, and so were you. Perhaps for the same reasonâŠ
Other agents were finishing off the Omega team, Iselin didnât really have anything else to worry about other than stabilizing you
âCan you tell me your name?â she asked, hoping to establish if you were coherent
You replied perfectly, and set her at ease. Then you had an idea, and asked for her name
âDeadlo- Iselin, my name is Iselinâ she responded
Because you managed to get at least a name, you pressed your luck and asked more about her
âThat will have to wait, weâre taking you a hospital to make sure you werenât injured in any other wayâ
Sage gave you a check up and confirmed you were fine, then hooked up a heart monitor before leaving to inspect other agents
Iselin walked over to see how you were doing, then sat next to your cot. It was another chance to get to see her and you tried to converse politely with her
As you chatted she kept looking over your shoulder to something, all while still remaining invested in your conversation
âDo I make you nervous?â She asked softly
âWhat! No! Why would you think that?â you quickly answered back
âItâs just that the monitor says you have an elevated heart rate.â
Looking behind you, the screen did show you that werenât as relaxedÂ
âOh!â you exclaimed, âItâs just that, I find you kind of⊠attractiveâ
The machine was beeping rapidly now, but not detracting from the silence that swallowed the moment between you and Iselin. She spoke first
âWould you like to spend some time together then?â she was blushing as much as youÂ
As you walked out of the clinic, you made plans to see her again
Deadlock Date
You and Iselin decided to meet at a Valorant safehouse that Cypher had once used. He promised he removed all the cameras
She had prepared some ingredients for dinner you could cook together. Cooking was something she did with her old team
Because you were in LA still, she managed to find fresh salmon at a market and decided to cook it
She gutted it in front of you, and taught you how to debone, clean and prepare the fish. Her skill with the knife was amazing, if not intimidating
You asked a for some help and she took your hand, showing you the right way to cut
The rest of the preparation was easier, requiring less input. It was during this that you talked to IselinÂ
For her, it was refreshing to find someone who didnât know about her past, the trauma sheâd endured, and could let in gradually
You came to understand that she was ex-military but nothing official. Her main expertise was in tracking and scouting, which you decided to test
Youâd ask about urban legends or survival stories and sheâd debunk them or let in on a fact about hunting
The incredulous reactions you had managed to coax a smile out of her
As dinner began, you both started sharing more personal stories and began to get more well-acquainted with the otherâs background
Iselin bristled when you asked why she was with Valorant, and she decided to say as much as she could stomach
âI had something happen to me and they were there for me.â Her eyes darted to her prosthetic arm
There was a moment of silence, tension roseÂ
âIâm glad they were there for you, if they werenât I donât think I would have met you.âÂ
The words touched Iselin deeply, and she could only utter out a phrase
âTusen takk.â she smiled up at youÂ
As you finished your dinner you both had easier conversations about personal tastes. It was here you found that Iselin enjoyed hikingÂ
âWould you like to go hiking with me?â you asked tentatively
Iselinâs face lit up and she quickly responded with âJa takk!â
Sadly she had to leave soon and you both exited the safehouse. Iselin turned to you as you closed the doorÂ
âY/N, thank you. It hasnât been easy to let people get close but youâve helped me relax a bit. I wonât forget you y/n.âÂ
You got the sense Iselin was signaling something, and you leaned in. She kissed you and held you close, then cautiously let go
She left you the same way she found you: breathless
ISOÂ
Your day at work had come to an end, and you stepped off of your bus preparing to walk the rest of the way home
Isoâs had already began, as he was chasing down a member of his past corporation. He had finished off their friends, now it was time to end them
His target had managed to jump out of the window to avoid capture, but Iso didnât let up even as their chase took them onto the street
A small commotion occurred as Isoâs prey shoved you to put distance between his assassinÂ
As they ran past you, one of Isoâs headphones fell outÂ
Right in front of you as he ran into an alley from your sight
What else were you to do? Of course you had to return it to him (not because you wanted to get a better look at him)
You began to head towards the alley to see if you could catch Iso in time. Meanwhile Iso put his abilities into practice
Isoâs target fell right into the Kill Contract, and the assassin stepped into the space disappearing into the Interverse
Of course you didnât see anything, just a few strange purple particles floating through the air nearby
By the time he stepped out of his Kill Contract he ran right into you and you both fell over
Iso was bewildered and worried a civilian had discovered his secret Â
He and you caught a glimpse of each other and stopped struggling
Sheepishly, you handed him back his headphone and he took it back while being careful to hide the pistol he had in his coat
After helping you to your feet, you asked him what he was listening to and his reply of 99 God was a welcome surprise
âWait, do you like his music too?â you asked
âOf course, Iâve been to some of his shows too. I have playlists full of him.âÂ
You just happened to have 2 tickets to a concert of his, and seizing on the opportunity you asked if he would be interested
It was a yes
Iso Date
At the concert, you met Iso at the front before walking in together. The ticket staff asked if you were a couple while scanning your passes
Iso blushed immediately and you felt your soul vacate your body
âYe- maybe?â âWell it wouldnât be that, b-â âUh I think so?â
You both hurried in to the concert and got over the shock
âThat was kind of awkward right? Who even asks that kind of question?â Iso broke the tension
âI donât understand people sometimes.â you replied
Eventually that faded into background as the music started, it was a something else to focus on
You and Iso joined the crowd in excitement, dancing and singing to the music that leapt from the speakers
The opening set was absolutely worth the ticket cost
âTHIS IS AMAZING!â you cried out. Iso agreed emphatically
Lost in the moment, you watched Iso feeling the rhythm as purple lights from a nearby projector shown on the crowd
You gazed at him in awe as violet lasers ran over both of your faces, he stared back with equal entrancement
Deciding to embrace the moment, you both stole a quick kiss when smoke machines shrouded the crowd and the show ended
On your way out, Iso and you both talked about your favorite songs, the performance, and the special effects
âThis was a great night y/n, we should do something like this again.â
Barely holding back your excitement, you kissed him again before heading home
Iso walked back home listening to a track titled âSongs for Y/Nâ Â
Being a hitman was a lonely job, and even since he had joined Valorant he still lacked closeness. Luckily, he had found you
GEKKOÂ
Thrash had gotten away from him while he was out running a few errands, and he was worrying at this point
He heard the sound of the creature knocking over cans and moving around the isles. He dashed over to see her pouncing from a shelf into a cart
Your cart
She didnât revert to a globule, but instead curled up into the cart along with your groceries. Gekko was beyond panicked at this point
You cautiously reached down and tapped on the critter, and when it nuzzled your hand you started to pet it
Gekko was astounded by Thrash getting along with someone, and stood there in awe as you picked her up and continued to scratch her belly
You noticed him staring at you with his jaw hanging open
âUh, is this yours?â you asked while handing Thrash over to him. She flew into Gekkoâs satchel excitedly
âUh, yeah, thanks for catching her. I never see her get along with other people so itâs kind of weird to see her like this. The rest of my crew is a lot more chill.âÂ
âThe rest of your crew?â you asked. Gekko realized he said too much at that point
âWell Iâm not supposed to talk about it butâŠa no la importa ahorita.â he summoned Wingman and placed him in your hands
You saw your chance and took it
âIâd love to get to them and you too if you wanted to do something some time.â
Gekko went red, then smiledÂ
âMeet me tomorrow evening at the Kingdom train depot, past the security fence.â
It was a date, one you were eager for but slightly worried about
Gekko Date
Following Gekkoâs instructions was easy enough, getting into the trainyard was easy but the fear of being caught was palpable
It was kind of a rush though, sneaking by all of the cameras and guards. You knelt down behind some crates and let out a sigh
A finger tapped on your shoulder and you twisted around in fear
âOye, calma!â Gekko whispered. âItâs me, you can chill.â He smiled at you and gestured to a bag you carried
It was filled with spray paints of different colors rattled around inside. Gekko walked you over to a train car he had already covered in stencils
He grabbed 2 cans gleefully and shook them together. He tossed the other to you and grinned. âLista? Letâs do this.â
You both got to work, assisted by Wingman to keep watch and hand paint cans. Deep blues and electric greens covered the car at first, followed by pastel violets. Â
Cans of paint traded hands, fingers brushing near but never touching. Until Gekko looked up at the top stencil and had an idea
He hoisted you up on his shoulders and had you paint it. Wobbling back and forth, you sprayed the last parts of the design before he cautiously let you down
âOk, I want you to close your eyes alright?â Gekko pleaded. âWait up, okay 3. 2. 1â
Your eyes opened and saw the beauty you and him created together
It was a scene of a jungle at night, navy blue foliage covering up most of it while neon green fireflies dotted the mural. In the middle was a prowling jaguar with a cub between its front legs
âItâs beautifulâŠâ you whispered
âyou are tooâ whispered Gekko. Wingman abruptly pushed you both together and you met each otherâs gaze
Both of you kissed each other quickly before blushing and quickly breaking down into embarrassed apologies
âYou, I. We should, do this more right?â
âYeah, por supuestoâ
Wingman lived up to his name that night
CHAMBERÂ
Youâd met at after a charity dinner hosted by Kingdom, and it was the most boring thing youâd ever attended
It was a show of corporate goodwill but mainly to placate the public. The only reason you showed up is because the donations went straight to your city
Plus free wine, which you had taken and were drinking on a balcony that gave you some space from everyone else
âFait froid non?â
You turned to see a tall man dressed in a fine suit and prismatic tie, his hand extended in greeting
âVincent Fabron, enchanteâ
He took your hand, refraining from kissing it and instead shooting you a flirtatious grin
He made small talk with you about the event, and brought up that he had been with Kingdom as a guest. Both of you started talking about each other's lives
Fabron asked if you had a partner
You blushed a bit and replied âno,â to which he responded âTres bien, then would you be free for dinner sometime this week?â
You were taken aback by how forward he was, but then again he was a gentleman and quite handsome
A digital chime broke the silence and Fabron checked his wristwatch. An alert was going off, accompanied by some V-shaped sign
âI look forward to meeting you once more,â he gestured to his watch, âbut I am afraid I have some responsibilities to tend to. Au revoirâ
He waved at you as he went back inside and disappeared
In your hands was the card, which had the address of a high end restaurant and a time written on it. The other side was the business card of Vincent âChamberâ Fabron
Chamber Date
Dressed in your finest clothing, you waited outside of the restaurant building but were unsure where Chamber was
You pulled out the card to see if you had made a mistake and noticed a colorful glow coming from it
In a flash of radiant energy you were teleported, right into a private room with Vincent waiting
âBonne nuit, I hope the teleportation was comfortable. Let me get your seat.â Â
Vincent had finished lighting candles, setting plates, and took your coat before seating you across from him
You sat down to a prepared dinner of salad, coq au vin, and fresh bread
Vincent pressed something on his watch, then teleported a bottle of red wine to his hand and opened it. He poured your glass and sat down as he poured his ownÂ
He began asking more about your life, interests, and even a few intimate questions
You naturally responded with your own questions, learning about his time at Kingdom and even a little about his time with Valorant
He asked about your life some more, not forgetting any of the details you told him the first time you met
By the time you both had finished the wine, it felt as if you knew the other as lifelong partners. Vincent was listening to you explain something, but you became nervous
âAm I boring you? I didnât mean to-â
âI assure you, nothing you do could ever be boring. Thereâs nobody more invested in you than me, Y/N.â
You were taken aback, and felt a spark of something. On an impulse you leaned inÂ
Chambers' lips met yours and both of you kissed, he had found a private room so the moment you both shared was only yours to know
When you finished, Vincent sat back confidently with a somewhat knowing, if not smug, look on his face
âIâve been waiting for you to do that all nightâÂ
FADEÂ
Istanbul is a lively city, so the few places that offered a bit of peace were an oasis. One such oasis was a bookstore in Kadikoy
You had paged through books but hadnât really found anything that piqued your interest yet. The saturation of supernatural romances and dystopian teen novels wasnât helping
A woman with dark hair was also reading through another book, but unlike you was invested. She sat at a table with a glass of warm tea
Her hands obscured the title, but you wanted to know if it was worth reading
Not like you had other reasons
âUhh hi, what are you reading?â
You came face to face with mismatched eyes and a curious stare
âDune,â she moved her hand to let you see the cover, âIâve had it recommended to me by friends. Itâs quite good.â
You instinctively replied, âI know right, especially when Paul-â you cut yourself off before spoiling the book
Fade wasnât normally in a mood to talk with strangers, but something about you was different to her
Normally she could feel fear emanate from people near her, however she didnât get any sense you held fear
Of course this intrigued her
âDo you come to this store often? I come here often but I havenât seen you here before.â
You told her you were visiting for the first time but often went to another store that closed
âSo you read often, what genre is your favorite?â she had set down her book
âI prefer science fiction, but Iâll read anything with good characters.â you replied. âWhat do you prefer?â
âThe same, although Iâll read anything when I have the chance.â she took a sip from her glass
Just as she finished, one of Istanbulâs many cats entered the store. A calico covered in large orange spots and one giant black spot across its back
It came up to you and began rubbing against your legs. Then it came over to Fade and did the same
âShe seems to like you,â you mentioned before Fade took the calico and fed it something from her bag. She held it in her lap as it chewed on whatever it was eating
âCome, she is friendly.â Fade invited you next to her. Obliging, you sat down and started petting the cat
âWhat is your name?â
âHazalâ
âAnd you are?â
âY/N,â you took your chance, âWould you want to get khave some time and talk a bit more?â
âEvet, that sounds lovelyâ
Fade Date
The neighborhood of Moda provided the perfect place to reacquaint yourself with Hazal
Naturally as you were on your way over, Hazal found you first. The woman is a bounty hunter after all
âMerhaba!â Hazal surprised you and led you into a small cafe. There were only a few other customers, leaving you and her mostly alone
She ordered khave, and you ordered the same. The Turkish coffee brought to you was the first you ever had
It was like drinking coffee grounds and pure caffeine in a cup. It was an acquired taste but very easy to acquire
Hazal and you talked about books you had read recently. You compared some of the adaptations you both saw in theaters, agreeing mostly that the books were better
The conversation moved to life, and you asked about what Hazal did. She mentioned that she did âprivate investigationâ but now works with a private security organization
It was a secretive topic, but you were fine with her answer. It was more important to focus on the future
âY/N, have you ever had your fortune read?â Hazal asked
âNot really, do you know how to tell the future?â you replied, you were curious at this point
Hazal pointed to your empty cup
You passed it over to her and she looked it over. She searched it over and then set it in the middle of the table
âI see in your futureâŠa deep unrest and sudden death.â She turned up to you with a dire look in her eyes
âIâm going to die?â you asked. Hazalâs facade broke and she laughed a bit
âHayir, relax, it is only a joke. In fact youâll like the reading better now.â
You calmed a bit, and laughed a bit at how she managed to mess with you
âIt seems like youâre going to go through some change, brought on by things beyond your control.â she paused to look over the coffee cup, âBut something will bring you great solace during this.â
âI wish I knew what that something was. Do you see anything else about it?â you asked Â
âWell I have one theory,â Hazal pointed to herself, âIt could be someone, not something.â
You decided to flirt a bit more, âAnd who could that be?âÂ
âSomeone close, someone mysterious maybe? They could even be right here.â
âIâd bet theyâd even go for a kiss if given the chance,â you caught Hazal leaning in as you said it
You shared a kiss with her, the first of manyÂ
VIPER
She rarely ventured outside of her lab and between running Valorant and missions, she had to keep her time off brief and tended to try keep a low profile
Her time outside of the HQ was generally spent visiting parts of the world and visiting art museums
Viper had a particular love of the arts, and museums were often silent so there was little interference from other peopleÂ
Except for you
She was observing Goyaâs Black Paintings, specifically Saturn Devouring His Son. Itâs savagery was overwhelming and therefore intrigued her
You sat down on a bench to observe it as well, and maybe the other person in here with you. The grotesque painting was enthralling, if not disturbing to think about
Then she sat down next to you, and you tried to keep your eyes on the painting. It was impossible not to dart your eyes over to her
âWhy do you keep looking at me?â Viper spoke in a bitter tone
Thinking as fast as you could you explained that you werenât looking at her per say, rather just theâŠpainting behind her. You were looking over at Duelo a Garrotazos
She raised an eyebrow and sighed, âThatâs an awful lie.â
To prove your innocence you went into detail about what you knew about the painting: History, interpretation, value, and origin. Â
Sabineâs suspicion turned to interest
âYou know art quite well, is it a passion of yours or a profession?â
âJust a passion, and I wasnât trying to stare at you.â
âIâm not as concerned with that anymore, what I am curious about is what brings you here.â
âJust wanted to look at the collection. By the way, I never got your name.â
âSabine, and yours is?â
âY/Nâ
âHave you ever painted before Y/N? Or are you mostly a critic?â Sabineâs intense green eyes studied your reaction
âOnly a little bit, but I enjoy it when I have the chance.â
âWould you be interested in joining me at a studio sometime this week? I rented a space.â
Caught off guard, you quickly asked if she was trying to ask you out. She was less interrogative now, and being genuine in her offer
âI would love to.â you answered.Â
An alert from Sabineâs phone broke the moment. Her face contorted into exasperation, and she quickly texted something back.
âIt appears I have something to attend to Y/N. We should discuss this later.â
Sabine handed you a page from a pocket book with her number, and after she took one last look at the gallery, left the museum
As she left, you heard her mutter something about her lab and âPhoenix,â whatever that meant
Her leaving was a bit abrupt, but you would be seeing her again and you could hardly wait
Viper Date
Viper didnât tell anyone about your date except for Brimstone
In her space she had assembled what she could for a still life: a few beakers and a collection of poisonous flowers like Oleandar, Belladonna, and Hemlock
Her arrangement was of flowers sticking out of scientific glasses. It wasnât the most ornate but it did offer plenty to paint
Knocking several times, you waited outside for Sabine to let you in. She greeted you with a softer tone than at the museum
You began assembling your palette with Sabine. You went for realistic colors, she went for darker variants
Each of you took a couple of brushes, dipped them in a glob of paint, and began your still-lifes
As you painted, you started discussing what each of you did for work, then chatted about art and world events
Both of you blamed Kingdom for much of the worldâs current issues, and Sabine shared stories from when she worked for themÂ
Some of them were definitely a little worrying, considering she had not only slightly poisoned coworkers but avoided being fired in doing so
Her understanding of chemistry was incredible to listen too, she had a clear passion for it
âWhy do you like working with poison so much?â
âIâm good at it, thereâs not much more to it,â she paused, assessing her answer,Â
âBut I guess I enjoy what they mean to us. We fear them because we donât understand them, but once we do they control life and death. I like that, the power they give to those willing to take it.â
âSo you think of what you do as a way to help people, but using something that people donât trust.â
âI suppose so.â
âDo you ever feel alone then?â Sabine paused mid brushstroke, âIt must be difficult having interests people are afraid of.â
âIt can be Y/N, but Iâve found it isnât as bad anymore. Poisons have their place in my life, people are earning theirs.â She went back to her palette
You added in more pastels to make the flowers stand out against the background
Once you were done, you shared the results with one another. Yours was more bright, and had heavier detail. Sabineâs was more abstract, focusing on brush strokes and tone
At the end, you both exchanged the paintings as a parting gift
Sabine cautiously asked if you would like to have dinner some time. She picked at one of her nails waiting for a response
âOf course!â you replied. Then leaned in and gave a Sabine a quick peck on the cheek
She could hardly get a word out
You and her left the studio planning on dinner and more art nights in the future. You had settled on portraits next
Sabine later thought about asking you pose nude for a portrait but dismissed the thought
CYPHER
Normally, you tried to stay away from explosions, gunfire, and energy blasts. While slipping away you were caught in a leftover trip wire you didnât see
The wire had tangled your legs, and forced you on the groundÂ
You were frantically struggling against the wires when you heard footstepsÂ
âWell, well, it appears a fly has gotten caught in my web. Letâs see who it is.â a voice coldly whisperedÂ
A man in a white coat and hat stepped from behind the corner with a gun drawn. His eyes were hidden by a dark mask, mechanical blue eyes took their place. Unfeeling
At least until he saw you. Despite the mask you saw the shock take hold immediately
âOh, apologies,â he reached his hand out and retrieved the wire, âI wasnât expecting others to get caughtâ
The initial fear you had turned to confusion
âWho are you?â you asked
âI prefer people I donât know to call me Cypher. Allow me to lead you out of here.â
His offer seemed genuine and you didnât have any other choice but to follow him into a hidden room where he sat you down
âI didnât mean to catch you, I hope it was not uncomfortable.â he sounded regretful, and seemed to truly care about you
âHere,â he handed you your phone, âyou dropped this while you were struggling.â
As you checked your phone over, you noticed the screen was glitching out. It was randomly receiving and exporting data
Your savior/captor was entering something into a desktop set up in the room. He was typing up something while you scrutinized your phone
Cypher turned back to you, and you caught a glance of a computer screen. It read: SECURED DATA
âSo, Y/N. What brought you out here? I know you arenât a threat, but Iâm still going to make sure you donât reveal anything to someone else.â
âHow did you know my name?â Cypher pointed at your glitching phone. âYou hacked my phone?â
âNo, I bugged it. Check the back, I planted it there when I handed it to you. I wanted to make sure you werenât spying.â
A small silver disc clung to the back of your phone. You struggled to pull it off, so Cypher offered to help
âYou donât need to worry about me holding onto any of your secrets, I cleared the data once I was done.â
âDo you always hack people's phones when you meet them?â
âYes.â Cypherâs answer was completely serious, not a hint of sarcasm
You asked more questions, getting a better idea of who this mysterious man was. It was difficult to get clear answers
âY/N, I trade secrets for a living. Give me something and Iâll give you something.â
You thought intensely, then it hit you
âIâll tell you anything about me you want, but on one condition.â
Cypherâs interest piqued. He leaned in to meet your gaze
âIf you take me somewhere that means something to you, you can interrogate me as much as you want.â
His mask stretched in brief surprise, then slyly relaxed as he sat back in his seat. He clasped his hands together
âYou surprised me with that Y/N. Itâs hard to surprise me, so Iâll take you up on your little interrogation.â
Cypher Date
Cypherâs coordinates and description were slightly difficult to follow, but regardless you managed to get there on time
You asked for the second floor room in the tea shop, and were led up some stairs into a room with cushions, drawn shades, and hanging lamps
The entire room was bathed in dim colorful light and smelled faintly of mint
Next to the table was Cypher, his mask undone but eyes covered with glasses
âAh, Y/N! Have a seat, the tea was just brought up.â he gestured to a silver tea pot
You placed yourself across from him and watched as he poured a cup of tea, taking care to stretch his arm upwards to let the tea cool as it fell
He passed the cup to you and motioned for you to drink. You took a small sip from the steaming broth
It was the best thing you had ever tasted. It was sweet like honey but had a distinct taste of mint. Moroccan tea was your new favorite drink to say the least
Cypher enjoyed it with you
âSo, even though I may have researched you for security I sadly didnât get to know you that well. Tell me more about you.â
You told him about what you did for work, and the places you had traveled to. Cypher probably knew about it but was still invested
He had his fair share of stories too. A life of information brokering and spying left him with some incredible tales
His ability to make you hang on every word was unlike anything you had heard before. The man was a natural storyteller, and invested you quickly
By the time you and Cypher had finished most of the tea, it was getting late and you were beginning to learn more about Cypherâs personal life
âCan I trust you with something Y/N?â Cypher removed his glasses to look at you clearly. His eyes were a deep shade of mahogany
âSure, I wonât tell anyone if you donât want me to.â
âMy name, my real name, is Amir. People who are close to me know it, I believe you should know who I am too.â
âAmir,â you said while getting closer, âthatâs a beautiful name. Iâm glad you trust me with it.â Â
Amir and you said your goodbyes outside of the tea shop, using his alias of course
âCypher, before you leave again I wanted to thank you for saving me.â
âIt was no-â
You kissed him while you had the chance. You did want to thank him after all
Amir was more than receptive to it, and you eventually had to break it off. Glasses hid his eyes, but not his excitement
You had captured him this time
YORU
You heard the sound of something falling over and metallic components spilling everywhere
Readying a baseball bat, you flung the door open and prepared to swingÂ
Instead of a thief or even an animal, you were face to face with an oni. Spectral blue energy spilled from the out from the portal it was clawing its way out of
Its bright blue eyes glowed with power, and it stepped through the portal towards youÂ
In your panic you swung and hit him in the ribs
âKUSO! THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM!â
On closer inspection, the âoniâ from before was a man in a bike jacket and wearing a mask. It didnât change the fact he was in your garage
âWho are you and why are you in my garage?â You readied another swing
âYoru, and I just teleported here because I was making an escape. I didnât think anyone was home.â
After a few seconds, Yoru tried to get back up but stumbled. A red stain on his shirt gave away why
âDid you get shot?â
âWhat of it? You hit me with a bat so I donât get why you give a shit.â
You realized that not only was Yoru wounded, he was also unarmed too. He had nothing aside from the mask he wore
âStay here, Iâm gonna get you some bandages and gauze.â
âI donât need that. Iâll manage without you, plus I donât think you know what youâre doing. No offense but Iâm not gonna take help from-â
Yoru winced as you applied rubbing alcohol to the wound. He inhaled sharply as you cleaned the bullet hole and applied aid
Once you had patched him up, he sat in the garage across from you
âSo whatâs your name?â
âY/N.â
âDo you always beat your patients before helping them out? Or are you that bad at first aid?â
âYou wear that mask because you got a messed up face?â you werenât about to take insults from Yoru after you saved him
He removed the mask, and to your shock he was quite good looking. He continued to scowl at you between sarcastic comments
He noticed the motorcycle in the garage, and gestured to it
âOi Y/N. That yours?â
âYes, why are you asking?â
âI ride too,â Yoru adjusted his bandage before standing up, âlooks like yours has got a bit damage.â
It was true, the motorcycle needed repairs and it was a chore to look up videos and learn to fix it. It was good to learn, but time consuming
âI could look it over,â Yoru smirked at you, âbut Iâm not feeling so grateful right now.â
âThen you can come back later as thanks for me patching that hole in your stomach. Sound good?â
Yoru was surprised at the offer, and despite his outward personality did retain a sense of politeness from his time as a yakuza
âI could come by again.  If I teleport in, you better not lose your mind again and hit me. That pissed me off last time.â
âIâll get it out if you forget to come by.â
âYouâve got a deal, Y/N.â
Yoru Date
Yoru teleported into the garage later than when he said he would. A blue flash alerted you to his arrival
He went over to your toolbox, taking wrenches out and checking the sizes of bolts. He also removed his jacket, placing it nearby
âStart it up, I wanna hear the engine.â Yoru tossed you the keys. The sputtering of the engine was not a great sign
âItâs the carburetor,â Yoru was absolutely certain in his voice
You and him got to work taking apart the bike and getting into the engine. It was an older model of motorcycle, but Yoru seemed to know exactly what to take apart
Both of you finally got to the engine, and removed part of the engine block to get to the carburetor
âWe need to replace it. Give me a second, donât touch anything else.â Yoru disappeared into a portal
In the minute he was gone, the engine began to ooze black fluid. You rolled your sleeves up and started to remove the engine block to keep it from leaking more
Yoru stepped back, holding a replacement carburetor
âWhat are you doing?â Â
âThe engine is leaking oil, I took it out so nothing else gets oil on it.â Â
He got down to look at engine you removed, his disapproval turning to satisfaction. He picked up a wrench and handed it to you
âTake the rest of it apart, weâre fixing the whole block. After that, weâre gonna do everything else.â
After a few hours, the bike engine, tires, and suspension were replaced with new versions. Yoru even stole some paint and redid the color on the bike
He got on the bike and started it. A smooth growl came from the new engine
âHop on, Y/N. You and I are gonna make sure nothingâs wrong with the bike.â you both grabbed helmets
You got behind Yoru and held yourself close to his back. Your hands were firmly around his torso
He revved the engine and peeled out of the garage. Yoru sped towards the highway and weaved between cars
Street lights and vehicles blurred around you as the motorcycle rushed past them all. Yoruâs driving was precise, but he was pushing the engine to the limit any chance he got
Cold wind forced you to hold Yoru tighter for warmth. Even through the jacket, he kept you from freezing
Yoruâs driving had attracted some police cars, to which Yoru decided to let chase him. He began the chase by popping a wheelie and tearing ahead
The cruisers tried to keep pace with him, but couldnât match his speed. Yoru flipped them off as he escaped
Suddenly a blockade appeared on your horizon. Yoru seemed to smile through his helmet. âKeep holding on.â he commanded
He drifted the bike into the blockade as he activated his mask. You and him rode the bike into the rift
Your escape led you right into the garage, where Yoru skidded to a halt. He hopped off the bike and smirked at you
âSo, how do you like my driving Y/N?â
âThat was insane. I loved it!â
âYouâll like this too then.â
Yoru grabbed you and kissed you. It lasted for a second but the moment seemed longer than that
When the initial shock wore off, you turned to a slightly blushing Yoru
âWe should go for a joyride more often.â you muttered with what little sense you had

Valorant Agents on Their Day Off
Brimstone implements a mandatory day off for each agent. No work is to be done on that day, and agents are encouraged to take advantage of this.
See below the cut for all agents
Brimstone: Despite the fact this was his idea, heâs one of the most reluctant agents to actually take his day off. Thereâs always too much to keep track of- missions, agent shenanigans⊠Heâs only going to take his day off if heâs sure nothing bad will happen, and leave the Protocol in the capable hands of Viper and Sage.
Breach: Man is absolutely pumped to find out itâs his day off tomorrow. You bet heâs gonna drink the night away, knowing thereâll be no repercussions in the morning!⊠well, aside from a hangover. But heâs going to be noisy as hell all night, so other agents are encouraged to wear earplugs if they plan on getting sleep the night before his day off.
Astra: Oh you KNOW she is making plans the second she finds out when her day off is. She might even encourage Neon or Raze to ditch their training that day to go out with her for a few hours, assuming they arenât being sent out on a mission. Near the end of her day off, sheâll dedicate some time to meditating and treating herself to some desserts from the VPâs kitchen.
Jett: Sheâs the first to be given her day off. As a result, she probably gloats to Phoenix and Yoru about her upcoming day off, claiming that she âearned itâ with her badass moves in the field, thinking she got it for impressing Brim. Sheâs quickly humbled upon finding out she isnât the only one. Regardless, sheâll still probably spend the day with Phoenix when heâs not busy, watching movies, binge watching shows, and even brainstorming some future pranks to pull.
Chamber: The marksman is one of the more difficult agents to convince to take a break. Heâs dedicated to working on his guns any free time heâs given- but at what point is he just continuously working? Brimstone ordered Chamber to take his day off, and forbid him from entering his workshop for any reason that day. He tried not to act too bothered by it, but Chamber was rather fidgety without occupying his mind with his guns. So instead, he opts to do research on how to improve his guns, and spend the time during meals watching soap operas. What? He loves the dramatics.
Gekko: Heâs hyped, man. He calls up his mom to let her know heâs gonna drop by, and spend the day with his little buddies. Spend a few hours with his mom, helping out around the house like the good son he is- then walking the neighbourhood, getting boba⊠and trying to keep his creatures out of trouble. He just goes with the flow of the day, skateboarding around and letting the world decide what he does. And today? Heâs getting ramen.
Omen: Heâs⊠hesitant to take a day off. Not because heâs worried about being needed during a mission per se⊠but more-so because he doesnât know what to do with himself. Thereâs only so much knitting he can do in a single day⊠and thatâs bound to get boring at some point. Neon suggests he tries some other crafts or hobbies on his day off, so he dons a disguise, and visits a craft store. He buys more yarn, and picks up a few new crafts to do. Some diamond paintings, a sticker book or two⊠though he takes a liking to photography, with disposable cameras.
Viper: Another case of âworkaholic doesnât want to take a breakâ. The only way sheâs taking a break is if Brimstone orders her to, otherwise sheâs not taking it by herself. Similarly to Chamber, sheâs banned from her lab for the day⊠so she decides to go visit a reptile sanctuary. She spends the day observing the different scaled creatures, taking notes and even sketching a few out if they inspire ideas for potential weapons. Sheâs of course drawn in by the snakes, and spends the most time watching them in fascination. Sheâll end the day by ordering in something for herself and watching a documentary or two.
Reyna: She laughs when sheâs told to take a day off- only to realize⊠Brim was being serious. It would take her awhile to figure out what to do that whole day⊠but after asking for advice from Sage and Skye, Reyna is convinced to try going to a spa. Itâs a very different experience for her, but she does her best to actually relax and be pampered. Itâs not something she would try again unless she had company⊠but she canât deny how rejuvenated she felt afterwords. Reyna and Sage make plans to take a spa day together at some point in the near future.
Sage: Being the self-case wizard she is, Sage is probably the most normal about taking a break. She tends to her small garden during the day, treats herself to a nice bath⊠diffuser for oils, relaxing music- the whole nine yards. Sheâs almost entirely non-contact, with the only difference being Skye, who would bring her tea every so often or ask for quick advice on how to treat a certain injury. The next day, Sage is glowing with energy and extra cheerful.
Yoru: Heâs immediately leaving the base the second he can. Grabs his motorcycle, and drives out to the highway- doesnât turn back. Heâll never admit it, but the poor guy is pretty homesick. He misses the cherry blossoms of Tokyo. The hustle and bustle of the city⊠the authentic food. He doesnât have time to go home, so he does the next best thing. Yoru rides into the nearest city, and has a night on the town. People watching, trying different hole-in-the-wall food places, maybe some random shopping? If heâs in a particularly good mood and sees something in a shop window that reminds him of an agent from the protocol⊠heâll buy it and keep it stashed in his room as a birthday present for them. Heâll say it was just some junk he found laying around his room⊠best not question him too much on it.
Phoenix: This guy is getting into all kinds of mischief. Nothing illegal, of course⊠but heâs definitely hitting up a night club or two, talking to girls (and boys, letâs be honest). Heâd find a clique of cool people to hang with, and spend the night riding around town with them. By the end of the evening, heâd probably have made good friends with his new posse, and most likely hangs out with them when he can outside of work hours on weekends. He most definitely gets a little too drunk and does some mild trespassing and messy parkour⊠and also ends up being everyoneâs collective cigarette lighter. But a cigarette lighter everyone loves. Life of the party.
Killjoy: Tell her to stay out of her lab, and you have a German storm coming. Sheâll argue as best she can, but she canât do much to sway Brimstone. Since she canât actively work on her tech, she grabs a notebook and sketches out some designs for new projects for the future⊠upgrades to current utility, anything. She has too many ideas and canât be left to sit alone with them. By the evening, sheâs gonna be pretty burnt out and have a sore wrist from all that writing⊠so she might invite Raze to grab dinner with her. The two will discuss potential upgrades for their current projects before Killjoy inevitably falls asleep. Sheâll wake up in her bed, not knowing how she got there⊠and probably forget her day off even happened.
Raze: Sheâs similar to Phoenix in the sense that she wants to go out and do something fun. Sheâll pack some spray paint and go out to find a place to tag or do art on; usually old, abandon buildings⊠since sheâd gotten an earful from Viper the day she got caught tagging a building in the city and had to get bailed out by the Protocol. Turns out graffiti is illegal! Who knew? Raze didnât! But sheâs careful now, and really enjoys expressing herself freely. Might buy herself a large canvas so she can spray paint some stuff back at HQ. Just as long as she doesnât make a mess.
Sova: The most difficult bastard to convince to take a break, good god. It would take a solid hour of arguing for him to finally concede defeat and agree to the break; ONLY under the conditions that Brimstone will promise to call him to action if they need him. Thankfully it doesnât come to that, but Sova still spends the day prepared to be sent to a site at any second. Heâs not the best at relaxing, and hasnât done it in years. Still, heâll make an effort. He calls his babushka, and talk to her for hours if he can. Heâll sit in his bed and journal, or go out hunting in the evening.
Neon: It was probably her idea to give the agents a day off. Though since her powers can be a tad unstable at times, itâs unlikely the protocol will want her leaving the HQ on her own. Not that she minds. Sheâs most likely spending the day hanging out with Phoenix and Jett when they arenât busy training, or binge watching some shows sheâd been meaning to catch up on. Might join Raze in whatever shenanigans sheâs gotten herself into. Might also bother Sage a little bit during the day if sheâs bored and wants ideas.
KAY/O: Day off? Does a robot need a day off? Itâll take some time to explain what a day off is to him, and why he needs to take one⊠Despite the fact he doesnât have the need to rest as humans do. But he appreciates that heâs being treated like all the other agents, even if he doesnât require the day off. Brimstone is probably more lenient with KAY/O, letting him be in the labs if he wants to upgrade something of his. As long as it isnât under his âworkâ protocol, KAY/O can do pretty much everything he usually does. He decides to take a stab at cooking for the other agents- and even though youâd expect him to pull it off (since recipes are just⊠instructions for food)⊠it ends up being inedible, and he makes quite the mess. Jett definitely has a bit of a hissy fit over it, and demands KAY/O clean the mess heâd made. He feels very bad. But you canât blame a robot for trying something new!
Deadlock: She. Doesnât know what to do with herself. Sheâd be one of the few agents who actually tries to get away with working while on her sanctioned day off, but is quickly foiled by Brimstone when he orders Killjoy to deactivate Deadlockâs arm from being able to use her utility. Deadlock is NOT happy about this, and will most definitely hold a grudge. Sheâll be in the shooting range most of the day, and will threaten to break anybody who tries to stop her. Her form of relaxing is training. If she is forbidden from training as well, sheâll most likely just lay in bed all day being bitter.
Harbor: Heâs not gonna turn down a free day off, thatâs for sure. Heâs going to make the most of it. Harbor goes down to the beach and spends the whole day there. Maybe heâll try some local food shops, maybe heâll play some volleyball⊠swimming, diving, watching the sunset, listening to the waves⊠heâs very laid back with whatever he does. Honestly, heâs most likely trying to get himself more in tune with the ocean, observing the waves and the creatures within. Or maybe he just wants to be a beach bum for a day, who knows. One this is certain though: everyone is jealous that Harbor doesnât burn in the sun. Lucky bastard.
Iso: Heâll shrug and agree. Heâs not one to cause a fuss over this kind of thing. Iso will spend most of the day looking into some new music, putting together playlists⊠he might do some obstacle courses in the training yard for fun, perhaps do a few laps around the field. It might look like training, but Iso is actually just doing it for himself. He likes to keep active, and make sure his agility is in check.
Fade: Oh god. She isnât happy. Training and missions are one of the few things that keep her mind off the chaotic nightmares she has to deal with. Her prowlers get stir crazy if they arenât allowed to be let out, so Brimstone promises to let them take out a few bots to satiate their bloodlust while Fade tries to actually relax. Sheâll most likely blast music in her room to drown out any unwanted thoughts⊠and maybe do some online shopping for things sheâs been meaning to order. Some new makeup, some hair dye (for herself and for Gekko). Might have a few drinks on her own in an attempt to loosen up at night⊠and will inevitably forget to drink enough water before bed, so sheâll be extra hungover.
Skye: The second she leaves the HQ, sheâs completely off the grid. Nobody is able to contact her, even if they needed to, because she left all her tech at the base. She spends the whole day in the forest, meditating, being one with the nature around her, strengthening her bond with the creatures and life around. Sheâll let her trailblazer out to run around, maybe play some hide and seek with it. Sheâll climb trees, skip stones⊠you name it. Skye is making the most of her day off, and enjoying every second of it, living in the moment. Sheâll always miss the fresh forest scents when she leaves to return to the protocol. Maybe sheâll bring back a succulent to her room so she can take care of it.
Cypher: Itâs not that he doesnât want to have a day off⊠In fact, he probably needs the break more than anyone. Though itâs difficult for him to be able to fully relax when he knows that at any moment, the protocolâs personal information, top secret plans, and more could swiftly be in the hands of their enemies if he isnât careful. The only way heâs gonna accept his day off is if Brimstone allows him to keep his laptop, so heâll be alerted if thereâs any privacy threats the second they happen, and will be able to deal with them immediately. Thankfully, nothing happens the day he takes his breath. So the Moroccan spends the day in his room, mask off, drinking his very expensive tea, and reading a mystery book series heâd been meaning to get into for awhile. And of course, his door is locked so none of the younger agents can barge in and complain that a certain website is blocked⊠he has to protect whatever innocence they have left.

MAGNET
âą. Chamber x fem!Reader
tags: soft angst + remote comfort, oneshot
cw: /
summary: During his vacation in France, Chamber decides to visit his lover who he had to leave behind due to his career
a/n: This story was written over the course of two or so years because I was procrastinating
Words: 2,3k
A lone cafe at the end of the road.
The small Jade Plants and Aloe Vera which were carefully placed by her in front of the entrance gave off a cozy feeling; one like home. Maybe that's why he felt so drawn to this place - as if pulled by a magnet. He always returned, even now.
Chamber's work at the Valorant Protocol has always been overshadowed by the distrust of his colleagues. Though he wouldn't say that they excluded him on purpose from certain missions, he knew that some agents avoided sharing their work and findings with him. Not that it bothered the weapon designer - he imagined that it would turn out like this the moment he stepped inside headquarters for the first time. He wasn't particularly upset. The Valorant Protocol was an elite squad, if they weren't the ones to suspect something bloody red behind his perfect reputation then nobody would.
However, that didn't mean that it wasn't exhausting for him. Sure - it was his job. The Valorant Protocol was only a stepping stone for his ultimate goal, and despite trying to be on friendly terms with the other agents, he treated it as such.
He always had this tension in his heart whenever he was on his way to visit his old high school sweetheart. Their past was a difficult one, leaving scars that they never managed to fix until they eventually ripped open everything they used to have - like a carnivore dismantling its prey. Somehow he wished that he could've done something to make it work out, but the damage it had caused was too immense. Eventually, he moved away, leaving her behind to pursue his ultimate goal, not trying to think about what must have been going on in her head at that time. He knew about the agony it would cause her, but he had to ignore the feeling of guilt for his own sake, though it was more than just 'being selfish'.
But he learned not to care.
And yet they would always return to each other - some form of guilty pleasure -before reopening the wounds that caused them to fall apart, with the pain growing bigger and heavier each time they acted on their desires. Deep down he would always year for her touches, for her voice to tell him that everything was okay until their fighting would drag him back to the cold reality. One he destroyed with his ego.
He couldn't help but smile when he saw that the interior still hadn't changed. Everything looked just like the last time he came to visit her. The Aloe Vera plants hanging from the ceiling in self-made clay pots, the dark brown counter with the 90's jukebox right next to it, the abstract monochrome paintings beneath a sign saying "It's Always Coffee Time", even the orange light from the sunset felt as if he was reliving a memory from the past. Slowly, he moved his left hand over one of the wooden tables. It brought him back to his time with Culverin and the French military where he used to visit this place by far the most.
"Vincent," her voice brought back so many emotions within him that he longed for during his absence, " I missed you." The man looked up as he heard the sound of a door closing in the back. Behind a counter stood a woman, her arms resting on the working surface made out of marble as she smiled at the guy in the middle of the room. Before he could reply she made a hand gesture. "We've closed already, no need to rush." He walked over to her and softly kissed her forehead, "I missed you too, (Y/N),"
She returned his kiss with a smile. "Do you want to drink anything?" she asked, turning on the coffee machine standing behind her without even looking. The man carefully sat down on one of the bar stools in front of the woman and just watched her doing her job before answering. "You know me," he whispered, "I'll take the usual." She laughed while playfully patting his head. "You never change, Vincent."
No, he never changed - at least not when spending time with her. Suddenly he was a 20-year-old aspiring PMC marksman again who used to visit his high school sweetheart's cafe on a daily base. He remembered it all so vividly, how they were sitting at the counter together until the middle of the night, how he could talk with her about everything, and how amazing the taste of her drinks was.
"Your order, mister~" she announced as she placed a cup of coffee in front of him before sitting down herself. She yawned, causing Chamber to frown. "Had a stressful day, my love?" He reached his right hand out and carefully placed it on her cheek. "You can tell me everything."
Her gaze wandered aimlessly through the shop, purposefully avoiding his question. She didn't want to start another fight by saying something wrong, so she just kept her mouth shut. "If you don't want to talk about it-" "No, it's ok," she answered rapidly, cutting the man off, "I merely had a lot of customers today. Nothing special."
Obviously, Chamber wasn't satisfied with that answer yet he didn't want to continue asking. He knew what happened in the past. So he just nodded, continuing to drink his coffee while waiting for the woman to start another conversation.
They ended up sitting in silence for at least 10 minutes. The sun had faded already, and most of the room was covered in darkness. Only the dim lights from behind the counter were visible. Chamber had just finished his drink and carefully placed the beautifully decorated cup before him. "Delicious as always, my love~" The woman smiled faintly, her hand tracing the sides of the counter as she still kept avoiding his gaze. "So... you're done?" The man flinched slightly at her peculiar word choice. "I mean, it's your place. If I should leave please-" "No no no!" she immediately yelled and cut him off. "It's not like that. I just, I thought you wanted to leave."
Chamber grinned as he stood up from his chair and walked over to his long-lost girlfriend. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close to him with his chest pressed against her back. Vincent grabbed a lock of her hair and tucked it behind her ear. "So you want to stay close to me, my love? My, I didn't know you missed me that much." She softly placed her hands on his and gave into his embrace. "I never said that I don't want to have you close by." He chuckled before kissing her neck a few times. Shivers ran down the woman's spine as she felt his lips on her skin. "So I can stay for a little longer?" he whispered into her ear once he was satisfied with his work. "I suppose," she answered, "but only if you tell me a little bit about your work."
It had been a while since he had talked with her about the Valorant protocol. She knew a lot, more than she should at the very least. He wasn't hesitant to give out classified information from time to time if she was interested in hearing it. He smiled and pointed to one of the benches to their right. "Let's go then, love."
He took her hand as he guided her over to their place. His grip was protective; firm yet comforting. She followed right behind him. When he sat down he pulled the woman onto his lap. His hands were wrapped around her waist once more as he made himself comfortable on the sofa. She reluctantly adjusted her position. Chamber laughed softly and started stroking her head. "I've missed you so much, my dear." Her expression seemed sad. "Yeah, I know."
She restrained herself from fully pouring her heart out. She knew that there was no place for her in his life. Not with Kingdom back then, and not now with Valorant. And it was selfish to ask. He had told her about so many things. Omega Earth, how the agents of the protocol defended humanity and all the struggles and hardship they went through. And the teleporter to the other side that he could help to finally get working. They needed him more than she did.
A soft touch trailed down the side of her body. It was her most sensitive place, the skin just above her waist. And he knew that, for he had stroked this place so many times when they were younger. Wilder. Free.
"I don't like how lost you are in thoughts, my love," he whispered into her ear with such a demanding tone. "Tell me what's wrong. Please." Chamber's head rested on her shoulder and he pulled her even closer, into a protective hug. It was caring. Loving. And she hated it.
"Vincent, I," she tried to find the right words. And maybe she even tried to drag out the moment. Maybe she was scared. Or maybe not. She couldn't tell as all those emotion clouded her mind. "I just can't anymore. I've missed you so much. And every time when I think you're finally over me and I'm finally over you. You just. Stand in front of my door. And I hate it." One single tear was rolling down her cheek, joining all the others that she had shed over him so many times already. "If I can't be with you... then we should finally draw the line."
His expression was unreadable. Somewhere between sadness and acceptance. She wondered if he saw it coming, that's she wouldn't keep up with their on-and-off-relationship for the rest of their life. "I have other plans," she continued, her voice cracking as she tried to hold back more tears. "I want to settle down, have my café, maybe a family if the circumstances allow it. But you're focused on your career, and that's ok, but you need to be honest with yourself. I need someone who sees me as their first choice. If you can't give me that- then leave me for good." Her hand reached out to him, visibly shaking, and softly trailing over his cheek. She smiled at feeling his skin on her fingers. "I want to go with you. Or want you to stay here. One of it, I don't care. I can start over somewhere else. Please, Vincent. Give me an answer."
Chamber placed his hand on her cheeks and softly stroked away her tears. His gaze carried a silent apology. It was enough of an answer for her.
Her heart was torn apart, and even though she wanted to be mad at him so badly, she knew that he was hurting as well. At least she liked to tell herself that because she couldn't face the faint possibility that he actually didn't care. Despite wanting to do as she said and tell him get out, she buried her face in his chest and gave into his embrace one final time. As he reciprocated her hug, he placed a kiss on her forehead.
They didn't talk for they were being too pain struck to even mumble a single word. The woman's eyes closed as she listened to her lover's heartbeat.
Soft rays of sunlight were dancing on her skin as she got woken up by movement below her. As the girl tried opening her eyes which reacted badly to the sudden change in contrast. The street outside had yet to become as busy as usual, but she could tell that the people walking by were messengers of the soon to arrive morning rush. "Fuck, it's morning already! I can't open the café like this," she complained as she hastily looked around to find a clock somewhere. "I'll just call in sick and ask someone else to open the shop later today." While she was running around trying to organise everything for her coworkers later, Chamber had been simply watching her without leaving his place. It took a while for her to notice he was still there.
She tried to avoid his gaze knowing that she had to face him one last time until it was farewell. Her nails scratched over the wooden surface of the counter as she tried to hold back her tears. She was frustrated. With herself. With him.
He had approached her from behind in the meantime and trailer his fingers down her curves. "I want you to be happy, love." The sad tone in his voice echoed through the building, weaving together a melody of despair with the sound of her tears dropping down to the ground. "But if my job in the protocol is ever complete, I promise that I will marry you."
The pain ate away at her, and hearing his promise didn't make things easier for her. She wanted to forget but knew deep down that she could never get over him. "You promise?" she asked with her voice being but a mere whisper. He would return. And they could have a future together.
"Of course my darling." He placed one final kiss on her lips to manifest his promise before heading towards the door.
And as you watched him disappear into the sunrise, you trailed your fingers over your lips where he had just touched you.
You knew he would return.
For you.

Learning Their Language (Valorant X Reader)
The protocol is about as international as it gets, and although most of them are bilingual there can be a bit of a language barrier. You and your S/O decided to practice a bit of their native language so you could. (Iâm bilingual in Spanish so everything else me actually learning words, so it may not sound like a native speaker). Like, reblog, and comment pls :) Special thank you to @darthladyofillusions for help translating the Turkish and Japanese!
Gekko - SpanishÂ
âOye Y/N, que onda?â Gekko asked as he entered the lounge and sat next to you on the sofa
âNada, estoy ehh⊠Iâm just sitting here. I don't really know how to say that yetâŠâ you trailed off with a bit of a weak laughÂ
âY/N, donât worry about it. Itâs good that you can understand when Iâm saying hi.â
âBut I want to know moreâŠâ you paused and looked at him, then an idea struck
âYou could teach me, you and I spend so much time together and it isnât like it would be studying in school.â
Gekko stared back at you for a couple of seconds and then sat up quickly
âIâd totally teach you Spanish Y/N!â His excitement matched yours, and a wide grin spread across his face
A few weeks went by between you and him doing the basics of Spanish. Practicing phrases for callouts helped a lot for the field, but even simple responses like âde acuerdoâ or âun poquitoâ became more common for you
During a particularly slow day, Brimstone called a meeting. Gekko and you sat together as usual
Part way through the meeting, Gekko whispered âCreo que vamos a morir en esas sillas. Seremos esqueletos secos cuando Brim esta terminado.â
You understood his joke clearly and stifled your laughter the best you could. Gekko had made a habit of telling jokes in Spanish for only you and him
Unless of course Reyna was in the room, at which point sheâd join in. Reynaâs Spanish was quicker than when Gekko spoke to you, but you had learned to pick out a few words
âDime Gekko, ÂżquĂ© quieres comer anoche? We got some skirt steaks in so we can make some ar-achera.â you looked over at Gekko, a puzzled expression on his face
âComo? Que dijiste Y/Nâ
âArachera?...â
âYou arenât rolling the R in âarracheraâ right. Say it like this: Arrr-A-che-Ra.â
âAr. A! Ara!â You tried to pronounce it the same way he did but just werenât used to making that sound
âWell do you have any advice on how to roll an R?â
âJust put your tongue on the roof of your mouth.â he replied, taking a step closer to you while you tried to pronounce it correctly
âComo eso amor.â he leaned in and kissed you softlyÂ
âOn the top of the mouth, Y/N. If you can kiss, you should have no problems with saying it right.â
âFue incredibleâŠâ you whispered as he pulled back. Gekko was blushing as much as you were and giggled quietly
The rest of the evening was spent grilling, cutting vegetables, and making crude jokes in Spanish
Wingman nearly ran away with some of the plated arepas you and him had made. After rescuing them, you had your dinner together
âOye Mateo,âÂ
He looked up mid biteÂ
âI never got to thank you for how much youâve done for me. MuchĂsimas gracias a todos. Y tu sabes eso, pero te amo. Eres mi querido.â you worried you sounded too much like a telenovela but caught Gekko smiling
âDe nada Y/N. Eres el amor de mi vida tambiïżœïżœn.â
Chamber - FrenchÂ
âBonsoir Y/N, ça va?â Chamber called to you from behind right as you entered the workshopÂ
âI donât know what you just said Vincent. I can only understand when you speak English.â
âBut Y/N, you could learn. After all, youâd have the finest tutor in all of France to teach you.â Chamber moved closer and looked over your shoulder as you began to disassemble a pistol
âYouâd actually teach me?â you asked, trying to fight the urge to turn around and meet him face to face
âCertainly Y/N. For two people to share a language is a wonderful thing. They work better together and they become so much closerâ
His offer got the better of you, and you relented. You turned to face him as he stood up and met your stare
âIâll do it then. Especially if it means we can spend a little more time together.â
Chamber adjusted his glasses and smiled. âMagnifique Y/N.â
For the next couple of weeks you met with Chamber whenever you could. Lessons tended to be something you looked forward to
âNon, non, Y/N. It would be a travesty for you not to assist on le mission. Je mâennuie Ă mourir sans toi. Tu es beaucoup trop amusant pour partir.â Â
âJe le pense aussi, but do you think Iâd just get in the way? I thought youâd be solo on this one.â
âY/N,â Chamber affixed his glasses and studied your hesitancy, âJ'adorerais ta compagnie Y/N.â
The mission was a strike on some Omega agents in the Pyrenees range. After some light exercise and carefully placed shots, you and him retired to safehouse in the mountains
âAh Y/N, puis-je vous offrir quelque chose Ă boire? Txakoli ou Sauvignon Blanc?â Chamber lifted two bottles for you to decide on
âJe voudrais le blanc, sâil vous plait.â you added on extra politeness knowing it would impress Chamber. Plus going with a French wine would make him proud
âA good choice,â he replied while pouring your glasses. âEs-tu installĂ© confortablement?â
âOui, but I have to wonder why we have a wine selection at a safehouse.â you slyly asked. Chamber gave you knowing glance
âUnless, someone went to great lengths for some time together. Avez-vous prĂ©vu cela?â
âPeut-etre.â Chamber answered, feigning ignorance and peering at his wine glass. His eyes mischievously darted to you
âYou knowâŠwhile Iâve been learning French, I never did learn how to say something I always wanted to learn.â
âQuoi? And that would be?â Chamber inched closer to you set his glass down
âKiss me.â you answered, leaning towards him and gazing into his enthralling eyes
âEmbrasse-moi.â Vincent whispered before taking his opportunity. He held your head and kissed you gently
After a while, you found yourself resting across Chamberâs chest. You looked up at the agent and caught him smiling down at you
âJe tâaime.â you quietly spoke
âJe tâaime aussi, Y/N.â
Fade - Turkish
It was getting late in the night and you were headed towards your room
âHey, Y/N.â Fadeâs voice made you jump and you turned to see her leaning against the wall just out of sight
âMerhabaâŠâ you groaned absent-mindedly. The lack of sleep was finally catching up to youÂ
âWhat was that? Y/N TĂŒrkçe mi öÄreniyorsun?â her typical scowl replaced with deep interest
âI mean, only a little. I donât know if Iâll keep doing it though.â
â...Well I could offer a few minutes every so often. İlgini çeker mi?
âE-Evet. Tesekkurler Fade!â despite your exhaustion, you still had trouble sleeping that night
The following couple of nights you spent in Fadeâs room with a cup of tea and a few notes you scribbled down
Most of the practice was just chatting together about life at the protocol and the day to day
â⊠Ăç saatlik sorguyu izlemem gerekti. Ăç saat.â Fade too a long sip of çay and laid back on a pillow
âReally, 3 hours and nothing? That must have been boring.â
âTĂŒrkçe Y/N.â She chided
âUzgunum! Ne kadar sıkıcı!â You quickly corrected yourself and adjusted your seat
âAnyways Y/N, GĂŒnĂŒn nasıldı?â Fade reclined back and trained her gaze on you
âUghh, tipik. KeĆke yapacak daha çok Ćeyim olsaydı.â you lamented. Â
âI can lend you a few books. Ä°ster misin?â Fade picked a few hard cover books from her nightstand and offered them to you
Almost half asleep, you took one and looked it over the summary. Despite theÂ
âUykum geldi Hazal, Iâm gonna head over to myâŠroom.â You yawned and drowsily made your way towards the door but fell asleep where you were.Â
Fade moved over to you and placed on of her blankets over you. She stood, captivated by how peacefully you slept
The following morning you woke up in her room and began to make your way to your own
âGĂŒnaydın.â Fade had caught you once more while you tried to quietly exit. In her hands was the book she gave you last night
âUnuttum! Thank you for reminding me.â you took the book back and set it your room
You met Fade outside your room after your morning routine. Both of you had the day off, so spent it together
Youâd chat in Turkish about plans and privately made arrangements to meet together outside for çay after most of the protocol went to sleep
Most of the day was gossipping in Turkish and sharing stories from before the protocol. Fadeâs were usually dramatic considering her history, yours were a little more uplifting
Once the moon was hanging over the headquarters, you crept quietly to the spot with freshly made çayÂ
âÄ°yi akĆamlar Y/N.â Hazal greeted you with a slight smile. âOtur Y/N.â
Taking a seat next to her, you began to sip your tea and chat with Hazal about how much things had changed for the both of you since joining Valorant
By the time the tea was finished, you had your head rested on Hazalâs shoulder while she held your hand
A thought crossed your mind
âHey Hazal, TĂŒrkçeâdeâŠI love you, nasıl denir?â you grinned as the words left your mouthÂ
Her eyes drifted towards you and she raised an eyebrow. Her green and blue eyes studied your growing apprehension
Without warning, she took hold of the back of your head and pulled you in close
Her kiss was impulsive and quick, and she held you gently as if trying to shield you from the surrounding darkness
When you broke the kiss, your face was flushed with surprise. The night air felt twice as cool against the warmth in your cheeks
âSeni seviyorum, Y/N.âÂ
Yoru - Japanese
âOi, Y/N, pass me the wrench.â Yoru had his face buried in his bike as usual, and you were helping out and catching up
âHai douzoâŠâ you muttered. Yoru grabbed a hold of it and began fastening something, then stopped
âDid you just speak fucking Japanese?â He sat up, almost hitting his head on the exhaust pipe and looked at you with suspicion
âI did, so what?â you replied. Yoru was always saying something in Japanese, so you decided to learn what you couldÂ
âAnd why did you decide to learn Japanese, out of all of the languages to learn?â Yoru leaned on the bike
â Betsu ni.â you shot back nonchalantly before folding your arms and smugly grinning at Yoru
âWell youâre sort of shit at it.â Yoru enjoyed the sudden embarrassment and doubt you felt before making his final move
âKomatta koto ga attara kike ne. Just make sure your questions arenât annoying. Wakatta?â His attempt to seem uncaring was outweighed by his offer
A few weeks went by of you and Yoru throwing barbs at each other in Japanese or just exchanging short phrases
âYoru-kunnnâŠâ you purred. It was just you and him in the locker rooms and you were being a little adventurous with new honorifics
âY/N. Ima nan to itta?â Yoru twisted around with a scowl forming while one eyebrow lifted
âOh, nothing. Trying out some more words, Yoru-kun!âÂ
Yoru took a deep breath and sighed. Â
âItâs dumb as hell to use that outside of Japan. Nobody uses it outside of businessmen trying to kiss someoneâs ass and people who donât know better.â
âJa dou yobou ka?â If he wasnât gonna use it, youâd go with something else to call him.
âOre no namae de kimatteru da. Same as you Y/N.â Yoru began combing his hair and dressing into some casual clothing
âFine then, Iâll use something else. Yatsu work for you?â
Yoru was almost proud of you for that
âAnata wada warugaki.â
More weeks passed by with you learning some more obscenities from Yoru. His days of crime taught him an assortment of terms you eagerly applied to your own learning
Soon, you and him were assigned to break into a building and sabotage some equipment
Once you were done, you and Yoru were free to enjoy yourselvesÂ
âGot any plans for us Y/N?â
âTokunai nai.â
âGood. Come with me then.â He pushed past you and grabbed your hand. Before you knew it you were traveling through his rift
Suddenly, you found yourself on a rooftop overlooking the city. Yoru teleported behind you holding some bags and taking a seat on the ledge
âCome on Y/N, foodâs gonna get cold.â
âArigatuo Ryo.âÂ
Steam drifted from the udon as you held it for warmth against the cold night. Yoru took notice and moved closer without a word
âHey Yoru, Kisusuru no mi wa nandesu?â you asked while resting your head on his shoulder
Yoru froze for a second, you felt him tense his arm ever so slightly. His eyes moved over to you and a small smirk began to form on his face
âMou ikkai ie, Y/N.â
Beginning to answer, âKisusuru no-âÂ
Yoru pressed his lips to yours and passionately kissed you. It was as if he had been waiting an eternity to do itÂ
Your arm snaked around his waist and he did the same to you. Warmth from him eased your shivering against the wind
He broke off the kiss and gazed into your eyes. You couldnât tell if the blushing was coming from excitement or the cold
âImi wa kore da yo. But do you know the meaning of aishiteru, Y/N?â
âAnata no koto daisuki.â left your mouth instinctively
Yoru and you watched the lights of the city together for the rest of the night
Sova - RussianÂ
âHorosho Y/N, excellent marksmanship!â Sovaâs applause was worth every extra hour of practice at the range
âIt was your advice that helped the most. Thank you again for the lessons!â Sova took your rifle as you thanked himÂ
âSova, I have a bit more to ask. Just a little favor, but only if you feel like it!â you instantly realized how much you were over clarifying
âYou always have my help, Y/N. What is it you would like?â
âCan you teach me some Russian? I always hear you speaking it and I thought it would be fun to learn it.âÂ
âThat would be wonderful!â Sovaâs eyes lit up in excitement. Later he brought you a small book, a Russian language manual
âI had a few books delivered here from the mainland. Vam eto nravitsya?â
âKonechno, spasibo!â you quickly thanked him with the Russian you had practiced
You and Sova took turns trying out words in conversation. It was a little intimidating, but his encouragement got you through the embarrassment
âKharoshaya rabota!â âVpechatlyayushchaya!â âChudesnyy!âÂ
You and him started to meet for occasional chats in Russian, usually starting with a compliment on somethingÂ
This eventually continued over into missions, where you and him would use Russian because it was quicker
âY/N! Zaryadite seychas!â Sova yelled while aiming a recon arrow. You stampeded in and dispatched the hostile agents with his help
After recovering from the fight, you and him were together in the lounge and chatting in a mixture of Russian and English
âOh, I almost forgot! Imeyte eto!â Sova passed you another book, a copy of your favorite book but in Russian print
âMy mozhem prochitat' eto vmeste.â Sova was softly smiling and seemed lost in how happy he had made you
You practically crushed him with a hug. You buried your face into his sweater before pulling him onto the couch
Opening the book, you flipped through the pages to the front and found the start of the first chapter. Noticing the cover was loose, you adjusted it and your eye caught something
In elegant cursive was written: âya lyublyu tebya, Y/Nâ hidden away under the cover. Curious as to what it was, you asked Sova
âAh, Ń ne dumal, chto ty skoro eto zametish'!ïżœïżœïżœ he was blushing and nervously twisted a strand of blonde hair
âSova, chto eto znachit?â you asked, puzzled
âIt means, I love you. Ty dlya menya vse Y/N.âÂ
You decided to try some Russian you had learned for a moment just like this
âPotseluy menya.â you leaned in and Sova did as well
You placed the book down and embraced Sova. He was warm, and the comfort you felt in his arms was akin to sitting near a fireplace
Sovaâs kiss was strong, but gentle. His calm demeanor and tendency to take his time made the moment seem to last forever
âĐŻ tozhe tebya lyublyu.â you whispered into his ear
Neon - Tagolog
âKamusta ka Y/N!â Neonâs infectious energy broke through the boredom of filing a battle report
âIâm alright,â you put the report down and figured it was complete enough, âwhat about you?â
âJust trying to kill time. You still have the copy of that comic I lent you? Phoenix wanted a copy soâŠâ
Rummaging through the books on your shelf, you pulled a volume from the collection. A few books fell as you did so
Neon immediately went to help you place them on her shelf started replacing them. She suddenly paused
âY/N, is this a Tagalog learning manual?â she turned over to you and held the book upÂ
â-uh, yeah it is. I may have picked it up after we started spending more time together.â A sheepish look was your only defense
âYou couldâve just asked me to teach you. I mean I could totally do that if youâre interestedâŠâ Neonâs hair was beginning to stand on end as she waited for a response
âO pakiusap.âÂ
For a few days, you and Neon met together for lessons. Of course it was mainly her correcting a few phrases while the two of you went for a run or chatted
Sheâd also drop a few new words in every time, mostly whenever you couldnât remember oneÂ
On a late morning jog, you and her took a rest on some of the benches inside the gym and caught up
âPagod ka na ba?â Neon was already stretching her legs and retying her shoes
âIlang lap pa?â you sputtered out, still catching your breath. You loved running with her, but she never got tiredÂ
âEh, who cares anyway. Anong gagawin mo ngayong gabi?â Neon asked, taking a moment to crack her shoulders and neck
âBukas na ang gabi ko.â Normally you had a few plans with other agent, but tonight you were all hers
âAgh!â Neon winced. âY/N, you mind getting this one spot on my shoulder? Sobrang sakit.â
âO Tala,â you took a seat behind her and felt around her back until you touched the knot. You took your elbow and pressed into itÂ
A shock shot through your body and sent you tumbling backwards. As you regained your composure, Neonâs panicked eyes caught yours
âPatawad Y/N!â Neon cried. She carefully helped you to your feet and offered her water bottleÂ
âHuwag mag-alala, it happens.â you had been shocked a few times before and Neon was always worried about you
âI- patawarin mo ako. I shouldnât be around you Y/N.â she apologized profusely and sprinted away to her room
Hours passed and Neon hadnât left her room. By mid-evening, you decided that she had spent enough time alone and knocked on her door
âTALA!! Buksan mo ang pinto!âÂ
The metal panels slide apart and you entered. Huddled in on her bed was Tala, hiding under her hoodie
âYou shouldnât feel bad Tala, ayos lang ako?â you gestured to yourself to emphasizeÂ
âHindi ko mapigilang gawin ito.â Neonâs regret clung to each word, as she dug herself deeper into her clothes
You decided to use a trick you had absolute faith in to get her out of the pit she found herself stuck in
Neon reacted with surprise as you suddenly held her and kissed her. She froze, arms raising to keep you away
Wrapping your arms around her, you ran your hands over her back gently. Neon melted into you, but broke the kissÂ
âY/N, I-.â
âHuwag kang mag-alala,â you interjected, âtumutok sa kung ano ang maaari nating kontrolin.â
Neonâs teary eyes were filled with a mix of hope and relief
âSalamat Y/N. Paano ako makakabawi sayo? Please, I canât thank you enough!â
âWell, anong plano mo ngayong gabi?â you were going to make sure the night she planned didnât go to waste
âI rented some movies, well Cypher pirated them for me. Gusto mo silang panoorin magkasama?â she tapped finger nervously on her bed
âOf course! Magugustuhan ko iyan!â Â
With that, you and Neon spent most of the evening cuddled together in her room. About half way through the second film, she leaned over to you and whispered
âMahal kita Y/N.â
